Experience Emerald Coast Scuba Diving

Florida’s Emerald Coast is best known for its sugar-white sand beaches and alluring turquoise waters. But, below the surface, an expansive underwater landscape is waiting to be discovered. Go beneath the surface at Emerald Coast scuba diving sites and witness shipwrecks, marine life, natural reefs, and underwater sculptures. Stay with Gibson Beach Rentals and choose from our vacation rentals in Destin, Sandestin, Miramar Beach, or Panama City Beach. Whether you are looking for introductory diving classes or are an advanced diver, the Emerald Coast is the place to be!
Emerald Coast Diving Classes
Before you embark on your Emerald Coast scuba adventure, you will need the necessary certifications. Destin and Panama City Beach are excellent places to learn if you’ve never been diving! Emerald Coast Scuba in Destin offers PADI Open Water Diver courses to help you understand basic scuba skills with an instructor. Or sign up for scuba classes with Panama City Dive Center for more tailored instruction for your specific needs!
Emerald Coast Popular Scuba Diving Sites
Panhandle Shipwreck Trail
Panama City Beach and Destin are located along the Florida Panhandle Shipwreck Trail, which features twelve shipwrecks. Obtain an official passport for these dive sites at participating dive shops and charters. The Miss Louise wreck, half a mile off the coast of Destin, is an excellent place to start offering shallow diving for open-water certified divers.
Panama City Beach is known as the “Wreck Capital of the South” and offers almost a dozen dive sites off the coast! Explore shipwrecks like the E.E. Simpson Tug and spot sea turtles, stingrays, baitfish, and squid just a half mile offshore.
Natural Reefs
The Emerald Coast is an excellent natural reef scuba diving destination for divers with advanced certification. Natural limestone reefs in the area include Airplane Rock, Triplets, Timber Holes, and Warsaw Reef. Common sightings at the reefs include red snapper, sponges, sea squirts, tropical fish, lobster, and more!
Underwater Museum of Art
The Underwater Museum of Art is America’s first permanent underwater sculpture park, accessed from Grayton Beach State Park. Dive past dozens of sculptural works from artists around the world at this one-of-a-kind site!
