If you have ever been to Destin, FL and have not seen the Velcro Pygmies play, you are seriously missing out. This band is described as “a unique blend of personalities and energies that create a massive rock experience. It’s a trip back to when rock n roll was fun and entertaining and not political or angry.” They are one of the most fun and entertaining bands we have seen here on the Emerald Coast and you have got to see them at Tailfins on Sunday @ 8:00 p.m. They will definitely have you on your feet singing along to all of your favorite songs.
As you celebrate the holiday weekend on the Emerald Coast, we just want to give you a few friendly reminders:
Head down to the Destin Harbor early if you want to catch the fireworks. if you try to head down there at 8, you will probably end up stuck in traffic. Make a day of it! You can catch the fireworks from any of the restaurants with harbor views!
Parking at HarborWalk Village is $10. Please don’t park across the street by the other businesses; they have attendants watching and you will get towed and it will cost you a lot more than $10 to get your car back!
The Destin Water Taxi is always an option. If you’re afraid you’re going to get stuck in the Destin evening traffic, you can take the Destin Water Taxi. The cost is $5 per person each way, but you can arrive at your destination in true Destin style. They go from Holiday Isle, Norriego point, HarborWalk Village, and all of your other Harbor view restaurants and bars. Call ahead and schedule a pickup location with one of the coastguard certified captains!
