Ahoy, matey! A trip on the Buccaneer Pirate Cruise Ship is a one of a kind experience – And of course, is a MUST try when in Destin! We boarded the ship for our pirate adventure and enjoyed a full hour and 45 minute interactive pirate performance perfect for kids of all ages.

Upon boarding, you can take a photo with the crew (dressed as pirates, of course!) and then enter the cabin inside for beverages, snacks, or souvenirs like an eye patch, plastic sword, pirate dolls and more. The drinks are cleverly named to add to the experience (and yes – alcohol is available for parents!) Once settled, the crew gives safety rules and an overview of the cruise, complete with their pirate speak.

Once the boat leaves the Harbor, the show really begins. The kids (referred to as lasses and lads) are asked to comet the center of the boat where they will sing, yell, dance, and run around. Everything from water fights to face painting to hula hoops and sword fights will keep the kids entertained.

Towards the end of the cruise, the kids are taken to the lower deck where they will learn more about the real “treasure” and how to find it. A very cool twist happens at the end when treasure is actually found and the kids get to leave with their own piece of “gold”.

The ship is very large and spacious, with seating around the outside for parents as well as on both upper decks and on the inner levels. While there isn’t any AC, there are plenty of shaded areas to escape the sun. Our overall review: 10/10 – This family friendly Buccaneer Pirate Cruise is a MUST for families visiting our area, as we have never had another experience like it!

It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance and Gibson Beach Rental guests DO get a discount! Use your app to get the promo code for both kid and adult tickets and leave us a comment below on how you enjoyed your experience!
