With everything from Mardi Gras, Dog Friendly Events to Tequila tastings, we’ve detailed out the upcoming fun in February and March so you can decide which Spring Events in Destin Florida are for you and your family!
Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday Parade @ Harborwalk Village
February 10th from 2pm-5pm
Beads, beads and more beads on the Destin Harbor! The Good Times Roll with dazzling floats, colorful costumes, beads, street performers, live music as the parade rolls through the Destin Harbor Boardwalk at 2:00 PM. This event is free to attend for all ages + pet friendly
15th Annual Mardi Gras Dog Parade @ Baytowne Wharf
February 11th from 2pm-5pm
Mardi Gras is a fun time for everyone at The Village of Baytowne Wharf, and that includes your furry canine friends! This year join us for a unique parade dedicated just to the dogs with a theme of ‘Bone Appetit’!
Fat Tuesday Mardi Paws @ Harborwalk Village
February 13th from 5pm-8pm
Celebrate Mardi Gras and revel in the fun at HarborWalk Village and enjoy flavorful & free red beans and rice starting at 5pm! At 6pm join us for the 2nd Annual Mardi PAWS Costume Contest – Show off your pets in green, purple, & gold on our main stage as local judges award 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes. The contest entry fee is a $10 donation for Alaqua Animal Refuge.
Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday Parade Village of Baytowne Wharf
February 13th from 5pm-7pm
Prepare to let your hair down on what many call the most festive day of the year, Fat Tuesday! “Laissez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) with the 16th annual Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Parade. Unique and colorful floats, golf carts, and pick-up trucks roll down the streets. Dress in your Mardi Gras best, and shower parade goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets. The post-parade celebration continues into the night with street performers, “throws” tossed from balconies and parties at various village merchants.
Sandestin Gumbo Festival
February 17th from 12pm-4pm
The Sandestin Gumbo Festival has been known as one of the largest most popular winter food events along Florida’s Emerald Coast. Kick off the weekend with our Crawfish Boil Kick-off Party on Friday, February 16th at 5pm at Marlin Grill. On Saturday February 17th join us for the main event starting at 12pm. Sample a variety of gumbo and vote for your favorite as the “People’s Choice” winner! Dark or light roux? Chicken, sausage, or seafood? Celebrity judges will vote for the “Area’s Best”. Guest can enjoy live music from Dikki Du throughout the event.
Parrothead Chili Cookoff @ Harborwalk Village
February 24th from 12pm-4pm
Join us for a day of spiced, spirited competition as Chili experts from near and far don their aprons to prove they have the best chili around. The Emerald Coast Parrot Head Club host a fun and exciting Chili Cook-off on the Destin Harbor. Over 20 different restaurants and Chili Master’s compete in this spirited cook-off. Cost is $15 for Early Bird/ Military or $20 for General Admission.
Tequila + Taco Festival at Harborwalk Village
March 10th from 1pm-4pm
Fiesta like there is no Mañana! Enjoy a flavorful afternoon on Destin Harbor full of tequila tastings, contests, live music and tacos of all kind! Experience the fresh smooth taste of over 30 varieties of tequila paired with fish, shrimp, beef and authentic Latin tacos. Sponsored by Crab Island Cantina.
