Best Photo Spots in Destin
With the explosion of social media, documenting our life adventures through photos has become increasingly popular. Not only are you capturing the events for your memory, but we know you’re stacking your Facebook and Instagram feeds full of beautiful beach vacation photos to make your friends jealous (we do it too!). To make it easier on you, here we are going to visit the top 7 best photo spots in Destin, Florida.
Harborwalk Village
This is hands down one of the best spots to start when you’re visiting Destin on vacation. There are huge boats, long docks, water views, bright lights, colors, and of course – a stunning view of the Destin bridge. Visit the top level of Margaritaville or Harry T’s for a stunning view, or hit up the marina for the iconic Harborwalk Village circle.
Fudpuckers
This is also a must visit if you have kids or are looking for a unique photo opportunity. Fudpuckers houses 101 live alligators in Gator Beach, alongside a variety of attractions, signs, and alligator statues that are perfect for photos. You can even hold an alligator in your hands for a photo (cost: $10). Outside of Gator Beach, Fudpuckers is one of the most colorful places you’ll see in Destin, with a huge mural on a garage door in the middle of the outside deck. The hardest decision you’ll make here is narrowing down which awesome photo to post.
Back Porch Giant Chair
The Back Porch is a staple for many people when they vacation in Destin. It’s outside bar is right on the beach (think bellied up with toes in the sand) and the food is worth the stop. They are one of the few places that has a GIANT chair outside the establishment, which is made for a photo.
Seaside, Florida
Where do we even begin? Every stop along 30A provides a chance for a killer photo, but today we are focusing solely on Seaside. With palm trees, the cutest beach accesses in the area, and a huge purple wall, there really is something for everyone. Bonus Tip: The movie The Truman Show was filmed in Seaside – see if you can find all the iconic spots!
Destin Commons
If you’re not familiar, the Destin Commons is our large outdoor shopping mall located at the main intersection in Destin, right when you enter town. Besides the standard palm trees and string lights, you’ll find a few murals that will make you stop in your tracks for a photo. It’s what every Instagram dream was made of: a postcard perfect shot.
The Beach
Would it be a beach vacation without a photo in the water? When the weather conditions are just right, the sun hits the water and creates a crystal clear paradise against the blue sky that you have to capture. Bring a waterproof case, take your phone into the water, and snap a photo looking back at the shore for a change of pace!
Pompano Joes
The last stop is Pompano Joes, and we love it for a variety of reasons. It is another one of the most colorful places on the beach and also boasts a beach bar down below on the sand. The colorful umbrellas and shutters of the building make this the perfect photo backdrop. They also have a photo spot up on the deck overlooking the water which is perfect for your family photos.
